It started with a simple question.
Where's your party at?
In 2004, two young professionals living on opposite sides of the country found themselves trying to answer it.
One was navigating Philadelphia. The other was building a life in Southern California.
Both were relatively new to their surroundings. Both wanted to experience their cities. And both kept running into the same problem:
We knew what kind of night we wanted. We just didn't know where to find it.
Some nights that meant finding a neighborhood watering hole and meeting some locals.
Other nights it meant finding the best place to watch the game.
Maybe it was live music. A brewery. A place to shoot pool. A good dating scene. Somewhere to meet new people. A great happy hour. Or simply a bar with the right crowd and the right vibe on that particular night.
The answer changed depending on the city, the neighborhood, the people you were with, the night of the week, and what kind of experience you wanted.
Search engines could tell us where a bar was.
Directories could give us an address and phone number.
But almost nothing could answer the question we were really asking:
Where's your party at?
So we decided to build something that could.
Search. Drink. Share.
Being entrepreneurial, technology-minded, and perhaps a little frustrated, we created T&T Solutions and set out to solve the problem ourselves.
From that idea, BarFinder.com was born.
The concept was simple:
Search. Drink. Share.
Search for the experience you wanted.
Go out and enjoy it.
Then share what you discovered with the community.
What started as a solution to our own problem grew into something much bigger.
From 2004 through the years that followed, BarFinder grew into a nightlife discovery destination connecting people with bars, pubs, breweries, restaurants, entertainment, and local experiences across the United States.
You could discover the neighborhood watering hole you didn't know existed.
Find somewhere to watch the game.
Check into breweries.
Find drink specials.
Discover what was happening around town.
And connect with a community of people who were looking for the same thing you were:
A reason to get out and experience something.
Big city or small town, nightlife has always been intensely local.
BarFinder understood that.
Then 2020 happened.
When Nightlife Stopped
COVID-19 changed hospitality almost overnight.
Bars closed their doors. Restaurants struggled to survive. Events disappeared. Social gatherings stopped. Advertising evaporated, and the communities that supported nightlife suddenly had much bigger things to worry about.
BarFinder faced that same reality.
After more than 15 years of helping people answer "Where's your party at?", we went quiet.
But the idea never died.
Because the problem BarFinder was created to solve never disappeared.
In some ways, it became even bigger.
Twenty Years Later, We Were Still Asking the Same Question
Fast-forward to 2025.
Once again, the founders of BarFinder found themselves sitting in a pub talking about nightlife, technology, and what had changed since we first launched the site more than two decades earlier.
The world now had smartphones, social networks, maps, review platforms, recommendation engines, and seemingly unlimited information.
And now it had something even more powerful:
Artificial intelligence.
Yet we realized something remarkable.
With all of that technology, it could still be surprisingly difficult to answer:
What should we do tonight?
Not what was popular six months ago.
Not which business has accumulated the most reviews over the last decade.
Not simply which bars happen to be within five miles.
We wanted to know what was happening right now.
Where's the crowd tonight?
Who's playing live music?
Where are fans watching the game?
Which brewery has trivia?
Where's the right atmosphere for a first date?
Where can we shoot pool?
Who's got a DJ?
Where's tonight's happy hour?
And perhaps most importantly:
Where matches my vibe tonight?
Different technology. Different generation. Same fundamental question.

That conversation brought us back to BarFinder.
Except this time, the opportunity was much bigger.

In 2026, we're proud to bring BarFinder.com back.
But we're not simply rebuilding the BarFinder of 2004.
We're building what we believe BarFinder was always supposed to become.

The mission remains remarkably similar. What's changed is what's possible.
The new BarFinder is relentlessly focused on one thing: nightlife.
Bars. Pubs. Breweries. Sports bars. Lounges. Live music. Happy hours. Trivia. Pool. DJs. Events. Specials. Social experiences. And the thousands of places and moments that give our communities personality after the workday ends.
Instead of asking you to sift through endless listings and reviews, we want BarFinder to understand something more human:

That's the consumer experience we're building. But underneath it is something much larger.
Building the AI Layer for Nightlife
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how people discover the world around them.
People increasingly aren't searching through ten websites, three maps, dozens of reviews, and multiple social feeds. They're simply asking:
"Where should we go tonight?"
AI can generate an answer in seconds.
But there is a fundamental problem: AI is only as good as the information underneath it. And nightlife may be one of the most dynamic categories in local discovery.
A neighborhood pub can be quiet Tuesday and packed Friday.
A normal bar can become the place to be when the hometown team reaches the playoffs.
A brewery has trivia tonight. A cocktail bar has live music tomorrow. A venue adds a DJ.
Happy hours change. Bands change. Events change. Specials change. Crowds change. And the vibe can change by the hour.
Traditional business directories were built primarily to answer: "What businesses are here?"
BarFinder is being built to answer something different: "What's happening there tonight?"
Our long-term vision is to build the nightlife intelligence layer that understands not simply where bars are, but what is actually happening at them. That means bringing together structured venue information, events, specials, entertainment, sports, amenities, community activity, and real-time signals to create a living picture of nightlife.
And that's where BarFinder can become much more than a website.
Our ambition is for BarFinder to become a specialized source of nightlife intelligence that AI assistants, search experiences, hospitality platforms, and other technologies can eventually rely upon when someone asks:

General search engines understand the web. Maps understand locations. Social platforms understand posts and feeds. General-purpose AI understands a little about almost everything.
BarFinder intends to understand nightlife. Deeply. Locally. And increasingly, in real time.
Using AI to Get People Back Into Real Life
There is another reason we're bringing BarFinder back.
Technology was supposed to connect us. Sometimes it has done the opposite.
We spend enormous amounts of our lives looking at screens, scrolling feeds, and interacting digitally while real people, real businesses, and real experiences are happening all around us.
We believe technology can do better.
BarFinder isn't being rebuilt to give you another reason to stare at your phone all night. Quite the opposite.

The Nightlife Ecosystem Deserves Its Own Platform
There is another side of BarFinder that matters just as much as discovery.
Behind every great night is a local business trying to create it.
Independent bars, breweries, pubs, lounges, and entertainment venues compete every night for attention against enormous digital advertising platforms. They shouldn't have to reach everyone. They need to reach the right person at the right moment.
A sports bar doesn't need millions of impressions. It needs to reach the person asking: "Where can I watch the game tonight?"
A brewery hosting trivia doesn't need another generic business listing. It needs the people nearby asking: "Who has trivia tonight?"
A neighborhood venue with a great local band needs to reach someone asking: "Where can I hear live music tonight?"

2004 Was Only the Beginning
BarFinder began because two people on opposite sides of the country couldn't figure out where they wanted to go that night.
More than twenty years later, we're returning to the same question. But this time, technology may finally be capable of answering it the way we imagined.
We're not interested in building another giant directory.
We're not interested in creating another endless review site.
And we're definitely not interested in building another social platform designed to keep you scrolling all night.
We want to do something much simpler.
