Auburn

Auburn, California's drinking scene leans heavily toward wine: BarFinder lists 38 venues here, and wineries like Fortezza Winery and Vian Estates Winery and Vineyard outnumber traditional bars by a wide margin, reflecting Auburn's spot in the Sierra Nevada foothills' wine country. A handful of sports bars, breweries, and distilleries - including Knee Deep Brewing Company - round out the rest of the scene. It's a small-town mix built more around wine tasting than a traditional night out.
