Chico
Bars, breweries, and nightlife in Chico, California
Chico, home to California State University, Chico and to Sierra Nevada Brewing Company - one of the most influential craft breweries in American beer history, founded here in 1980 - has a bar scene that reflects both identities. BarFinder lists 78 venues in the city, split between classic bars, sports bars, a strong wine-country showing, and a real brewery presence anchored by the Sierra Nevada Brewery itself, alongside spots like The Chico Taproom and Eckert Malting & Brewing. College-town staples like Johnnie's Restaurant & Lounge and Fusion Hookah Lounge round out a scene built as much around Chico State's campus energy as the city's craft-beer pedigree.
