Gold Coast
Bars, breweries, and nightlife in Gold Coast, Chicago
The Gold Coast is one of Chicago's wealthiest and most historic lakefront neighborhoods, long known for its Gilded Age mansions along Astor Street, and its nightlife scene is sized to match - BarFinder lists 167 venues here, the second-most in this batch, led by classic bars with a deep cocktail bar and lounge scene behind them. Broken Shaker at Freehand Chicago and SafeHouse Chicago (a famously spy-themed hidden bar) sit alongside neighborhood institutions like Burton Place and The Navy Pier Beer Garden nearby. It's a dense, upscale scene spanning everything from quiet lounges to late-night clubs.
