Bardstown

Bardstown has been known as the "Bourbon Capital of the World" since the 1950s, and the data backs it up: BarFinder lists 43 venues here, and distilleries alone make up nearly a third of them, more than any other single category. Bardstown Bourbon Company, Lux Row, and Willett Distillery sit alongside Barton 1792 - established in 1879 and still the oldest continuously operating distillery in town, built around the spring water that first drew distillers here. Beyond the distillery tours, cocktail bars and lounges like SOBA Lounge and Liam Ash Cocktail Emporium give the town a modern drinking scene built entirely around its signature spirit. Few towns this size anywhere can match Bardstown's concentration of real bourbon history.
