Alexandria

Alexandria's bar scene is centered on a small, revitalized downtown strip along the Red River, and BarFinder lists 46 venues here, led by classic bars with a mix of cocktail bars, pubs, and lounges behind them. Finnegans Wake, an Irish pub with a mini library in back, has been a downtown fixture for over a decade, while the historic Hotel Bentley - once the epicenter of WWII war planning, with local lore holding that D-Day plans were sketched out there - now houses the Mirror Room, a classier cocktail stop. Between riverside revitalization and a handful of long-running local spots, Alexandria's nightlife punches above its size for a city its scale.
