Newport News

Newport News, a Hampton Roads city built around its massive naval shipyard, one of the largest in the country, has a bar scene led by sports bars - BarFinder lists 55 venues here, with a real brewery and lounge presence. Coastal Fermentory and 1700 Brewing lean into a growing craft-beer scene, while AJ's Sports Grille and Smokehouse and Craft 60 Taphouse & Grill cover more typical ground. It's a scene shaped by its naval and shipbuilding roots as much as its coastal setting.
