Hilltop Shopping Area
Bars, breweries, and nightlife in Hilltop Shopping Area, Virginia Beach
The Hilltop Shopping Area sits just inland from Virginia Beach's oceanfront, a dense retail and dining corridor that's become one of the city's biggest concentrations of bars outside the resort strip itself. BarFinder lists 76 venues here, led by a deep bench of sports bars and classic bars, with breweries, pubs, and gastropubs all carrying real weight too. Spots like Sky Bar, Lager Heads, and Beachside Social give the area a beach-adjacent feel without the boardwalk crowds. It's a practical, high-density option for a night out close to - but not on top of - the beach itself.
